“When you realize how perfect this beer is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” Or at least that’s how we thought Buddha’s quote should have read. Our hoppy lager collaboration with Movement Brewing Company started with a crisp lager foundation, then got heaps of organic Motueka and Idaho 7 hops at the tail end of fermentation to release intensely aromatic thiol compounds. Scents of kiwi and passion fruit emanate from its brilliant straw color, while tastes of orange and honeydew grace the palate.

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $4.50
From: Pure Project in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: n/a; Received July 17, 2022
Consumed: Aug. 13, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with Movement Brewing Company; Canned on July 7, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (2/4)
Kevin picked up a 4-pack of this for Sonny and I. Pure Project’s website called this ““When you realize how perfect this beer is, you will tilt your head back and laugh at the sky.” Or at least that’s how we thought Buddha’s quote should have read. Bright and refreshing, Laugh at the Sky is the perfect summer companion.”
Poured a medium yellow clear color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at fast speeds, looking like a snow globe. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled kiwi, green grape, Idaho 7, pine, berry, orange bubblegum, herbal, tea, tropical fruit, Motueka, lime, mango, green pepper and melon. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. In order got kiwi, lime, green grape, Idaho 7, pine, herbal, tea, berry, orange bubblegum, tropical fruit, Motueka, mango, green pepper and melon. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Crisp, clean, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Just an excellent hoppy lager. I’ll be having more of this. (Overall - 4.25)

At the beer garden at Balboa Park. Just a good ole light lager with a proper hop bill.

A beautiful hoppy lager, really nice when you want a really good hoppy beer but not too much alcohol. Perfect as the hoppy beer in a flight, along with some sours and a Log Cabin!
