Sonny picked up a 4-pack of this and another Pure Project beer. Pure’s website description for this one was “The inspiration for Tales from the Deep comes from wanting to create a murky double IPA that features only Mosaic and Citra hops…and this is where its story begins. Gazing deep down into a glass of this new brew, you may wonder what lurks behind its cloudy, pale appearance. But, have no fear—unlike the sea’s mysterious abyss, this brew greets seekers with familiar aromas of tangerine, mango, and blueberry jam. Dive deeper and find flavors of freshly squeezed orange juice, pineapple, and dank. Is this the end to this tale, or just the beginning? It’s up to you, but a good story is always worth telling.”

Poured a light golden hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass but fairly serene overall. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy lacing. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled Mosaic, mango, guava, tangerine, mixed berry, rose blossom, floral, Citra, orange juice, tangerine, pineapple and red grapefruit. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted even better than the nose. Damn, this was good. In order got Mosaic, mango, guava, mixed berry, rose blossom, red grapefruit, Citra, pulpy orange juice, tangerine and peach. (Taste - 4.50)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Damn, this beer was great. I need to get some more of this ASAP. (Overall - 4.50)

Pours a cloudy honey gold with a finger and a half of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with some lacing. Aroma of pineapple and citrus. Taste follows nose.

 

it has a full feel but it’s still kinda thin. the taste is good and very high quality.

On tap at Whole Foods Sunnyvale. 16 oz pint. Nice bubbly head, pale yellow cloudy hazy. Not much nose, mild grassy taste , not super hoppy, fairly dry. For 8.3% drinks easy and balanced. Overall an enjoyable hazy ipa.
