Collaboration with North Park and Harland.
The Phuture is bright with this special collaboration brewed with North Park Beer Co. and Harland Brewing. This murky IPA leans on a mystical ingredient, aptly named Phantasm. Dependent on the annual Sauvignon Blanc grape harvest in Marlborough, New Zealand, Phantasm is an extract made from the skins of these grapes, renowned for their intense aroma. When added during late fermentation, Phantasm helps to create a juicy beer profile with strong essences of tropical fruit. As expected, our murky IPA embodies tropical notes of guava, passion fruit, and peach, plus hints of gooseberry and pomelo thanks to the addition of Nelson Sauvin and Hallertau Blanc hops. Be sure to get your hands on some Phuture I while you can!

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $19.80 for a 4-pack (10 pct. off w/ AHA Card)
From: Pure Project Brewing in Balboa Park (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 25, 2022
Consumed: March 5, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with North Park and Harland; Canned on Feb. 25, 2022; Split (1/4) with Sonny (1/4) and Kevin (1/2)
Grabbed two 4-packs of Pure Project and four from North Park. This was part of a collab with two other breweries with Pure Project leading the hazy IPA (Phuture I), Harland leading the hazy DIPA (Phuture II) and North Park leading the hazy TIPA (Phuture III). Pure Project’s website calls this beer “The Phuture is bright with this special collaboration brewed with North Park Beer Co. and Harland Brewing. Poured a medium golden hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky-to-frothy off-white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled peach, nectarine, passion fruit, guava, Nelson, viney gooseberry, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, pear and some Hallertau Blanc. Not quite as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. Damn this was good. In order got peach skin, nectarine, passion fruit, guava, Nelson, viney gooseberry, pear, green grape, mango, red grapefruit, pineapple, some Hallertau Blanc and some grass. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Really liked this one, probably even more than I thought going in. Then again it was a collab between Pure Project and North Park (and Harland). Excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
