In honor and celebration of the Oktoberfest season, we proudly present our new kölsch-style ale, Pacific Prost. The kölsch originated in Cologne, Germany, and we were inspired to brew our own version here in San Diego for our Oktoberfest festivities. In continuation of tradition, we used all German ingredients to create this beer, and fermented it cold with ale yeast. Its bright, crisp, and refreshing qualities are thanks to its extended lagering period and the use of reverse-osmosis water in the brewing process. Expect scents of white tea, sourdough, subtle pear, and floral elements followed by flavors of white bread, lemon, pepper, and slight red berry. Let’s raise a glass here on the Pacific and prost to those celebrating Oktoberfest both near and far!

Picked up a few Pure Project cans at Windmill Farms coming from work. Poured a straw-to-pale yellow clear color with five fingers of rocky white head. Could see bubbles coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass, a bit quicker from the bottom. World-class semi-layered lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled lemon, sourdough bread, biscuit, white cracker, tea, herbal, Noble hops, black pepper, floral and light earthy pilsner malt. Smelled a little better out of the can with the addition of pear. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got lemon zest, sourdough bread, biscuit, wheat thins, black pepper, Noble hops, tea, herbal, floral, pilsner malt, pear and green grape. (Taste - 4.00)
Light body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was an outstanding Kölsch. (Overall - 4.00)
