This was an eye opener. Big juicy but with a slight tartness upfront ... not a sour IPA ... with a smooth and delicious finish. The beer stopped me in my tracks and that is very very rare. 8% ABV is just silly. This is a beer that demands as many as you drink before falling over. Apart from their sour IPA’s this is my top HV beer to date.

Crowler filled at the brewery.
Heavily hazed, delicate fine lacing.
Earthy and funky fruit filled sniff.
Loaded with pineapple, tea and minty notes.
Complex, flavorful and basically delicious....go get some...

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a fairly hazy light yellow, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells just the tiniest bit tart, with a big blast of nectarine, tangerine, and peach on the nose.
I'm not entirely sure if this is supposed to be one of their "sour IPAs," but it does have a little tartness to it. It's definitely a massive juice bomb, with tons of tangerine, peach, nectarine, and a little bit of melon, and no malt character. There's just a little bit of grassy bitterness.
This is crisp clean and light bodied, with a normal level of carbonation.
HVB has taken it to another level lately. This is really nice stuff.

Pour from a crowler (dated 2.22) bought at the brewery, it's cloudy gold orange color with a 2 finger foamy off white head that faded slowly and left good foamy rings as it went down.
Smells of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon zest, biscuit, orange peel, mango, toasted grains, caramel, graham cracker and floral hops. The dry hopping adds lots of citrus and floral hop accents, bringing balance along with the malty backbone.
Tastes like it smells with grapefruit, lemon zest, tangerine, orange juice, pineapple, biscuit, toasted grains, mango, papaya, caramel, graham cracker and floral hops. The dry hopping is evident and adds coriander, peppery spices, tart citrus hops like grapefruit juice, light piney notes and floral hops. Bitter in a good way, but still very complex and easy to drink.
