A- Tallboy pours into a becher with a mostly clear pale golden body. A head rises up to two fingers high with a thick and creamy texture and very good retention. Massive sheets of lacing from, it is thin but it coats almost the entire glass.
S- Hoppy from the get go with floral and herbal notes coming in pretty strong. After that comes a good grainy character from the malts with a hint of bread, cracker and light sweetness as well. A hint of pale fruits, esters and a touch of vanilla from the barrel.
T- The barrel becomes a bit more present on the palate as the oak has some wood hints and more of the aforementioned vanilla sweets. The real players are the hops and the malts once again and this lager gets good use out of both. Floral, herbal, fruity and grassy hops with the malts bringing base pale barley, lightly sweet, crackery and grainy notes. A bit vinous with hints of berries as well. Light fruits round it all out but mostly the grains and hops.
MF- Silky and smooth light-medium bodied overall brew. The carbonation is at a medium level and it ends with a light bitterness. Texture is really creamy and just soft.
A very nice base lager that is clean and full of both hop and malt flavors. The oak rounds it out very well and it adds some wood and a hint of that vanilla sweetness.
