This one pours a creamy looking dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like vanilla, milk chocolate, smoke, roast, and a touch of bourbon.
I wasn’t sure how well this would work out, but it’s a pretty reasonable success, all in all. The barrel is light and very complementary to the creamy and chocolatey dark lager, seemingly smoothing some of the sharper edges down and making this creamier and sweeter.
This is light bodied, but creamy, with a really nice drinkability to it.
This was really enjoyable, and a very nice little twist one of HVB’s best beers – Say No More.
