Really sweet - not sure if the year in a bottle opened the door for some of the balance to be a little off kilter, but this is a dessert beer to the Nth degree. Enjoyable - glad i split a 500ml - would have been far too much on its own.

A: Thick, with purplish shades of midnight. Absolutely no head.
S: Maple, spice, chili fruitiness; big vanilla, marshmallow fudge.
M: Thick, sticky, low carb.
T: From the creamery: Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream meets rocky road. From the coffee shop: iced maple macchiato. From the snack aisle: potato chips, mallomars, black-and-white cookies. The chocolate flavor is really good. Although every adjunct screams sweet, there's a slight roast, and espresso chip toasted earth quality, accented by the maple; it's this one effect that saves it from being a cloying melted ice cream tub of a beer.
