Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Beer Drop. A classic ESB brewed with all English ingredients, just like across the pond. Think toffee, caramel, and toasted bread. Sail on and enjoy.

Light chill haze to the rich dirty copper color. A large initial head which recedes in a rocky fashion. Small spots and streaks for lace, slightly less than expected.

Mostly sweet caramel to the nose. Good flowery hop as a secondary smell. This intensifies over time.

Interestingly, this is balanced throughout the tasting--no malt-to-hop journey here. The higher carbonation, perhaps the only deviation from the style, enhances the bitterness. The body, while richer than most beers, is diminished by the spritz. The finish has a small increase of the lightly toasted malt, but the aftertaste remains long.

A: clear deep amber- copper colored with a moderately lasting white head.
S: malty and toffee with a slight earthy hop note.
T: toasted malt and toffee. Maybe some earthy hops hidden in there
M: medium bodied
O: less bitterness than i'd expected from an ESB, reads more scottish ale. Drinks easy.

No dating on the can. From Beer Drop.

It pours a clear 24k gold with an abundant head of foam, with plenty of lacing.

Smells of caramel malt, toffee, toasty with a nice bit of spicy hops. Floral, hints of honey, mellow.

The taste surpasses the smell. Intensified, if you will. So balanced, toffee, toasted malt, caramel just compliment the spicy yet at the same time, mellow hops. Little bit of a grass like kick in the finish.

Good body despite the lowish level of carbonation..maybe that's a plus.

Seriously good ESB here. Hey, they use all English ingredients.
