The next single hop IPA with Austrialian Galaxy. This hard to find and get hop is a fruit forward hop, consisting of passion fruit, citrus notes, and some grassyness. Don't let the hazy appearance fool, you, this one is a juicy bomb.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Firestone 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $3.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 12, 2020
Consumed: Aug. 13, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Was looking forward to trying another beer from the Chasing series. I previously gave Chasing Nelson a 4.12 on Dec. 31, 2019 and Chasing Mosaic a 4.15 on June 1, 2020. But knowing the fact that Nelson and Mosaic are two of my three or four favorite hops, and I’m only recently coming around to Galaxy, I think this would be a step down. I also picked up a Chasing Strata with this one (I’ve also had Chasing Citra multiple times, but never reviewed it). Back of the can read, “The next single hop IPA with Australian Galaxy. This hard to find and get hop is a fruit forward hop, consisting of passion fruit, citrus notes, and some grassyness. Don't let the hazy appearance fool, you, this one is a juicy bomb.”
Poured a medium yellow-to-gold hazy color with two fingers of off-white frothy head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled big Galaxy, passion fruit, lime, apricot, peach, grapefruit, lemon and wet grass. Big Galaxy and passion fruit from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste followed the nose, maybe not quite as good. Big Galaxy and the same characteristics, including passion fruit, apricot, peach, lime, grapefruit, lemon, hints of fruit punch, wet grass and lingering spice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another outstanding offering from Resident. Glad I picked up a can. (Overall - 4.00)

Appearance: Pours cloudy and honey colored with a thin cap that leaves a nice ring of lacing
Smell: Passionfruit and pineapple with a tangerine kicker
Taste: Passionfruit forward with pineapple rounding out the tropicals; tangerine and a bit of pith, in the middle; juicy finish with some residual bitterness
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Another nice single hop IPA; I am growing more partial to the Galaxy hop over the last few days

Looks like a classic NE IPA.
The aroma is very nice and what you'd want with this style.
The flavor and finish doesn't match the aroma and other characteristics. It falls flat here, especially at the finish.
The mouthfeel is fine and quite crushable. Not dry at all.

On draft at Bottlecraft, had heard of Resident but first beer from them. Pours a hazy (but not milkshake level) straw color. Bright, juicy aroma. Taste is soft, juicy, a touch of bitter, great balance. Supercrushable and comparable to a juicy batch of Alpine Not Nelson. Gonna have to seek out more beers by these guys!
