This hazy IPA is brewed with oats, wheat and our house fruity English yeast strain to give you just the right amount of body with a light malt profile that compliments the hops. We also use three of the most sought after hops on the planet which makes this so delicious its practically cheating! Brewed locally in downtown San Diego, CA.

Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.59
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: June 28, 2020
Consumed: July 2, 2020
Misc.: No canned on date
Picked this up at Windmill Farms while looking for some good ones for Nick and Mark. Had this twice before, giving a taster a 4.25 on March 21, 2017 at Bottlecraft Little Italy and dropping it to a 4.00 on May 29, 2017 at the actual Resident Brewery. Description on the can read, “This hazy IPA is brewed with oats, wheat and our house fruity English yeast strain to give you just the right amount of body with a light malt profile that compliments the hops. Poured a golden hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see many bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. Perfect retention. Very easy on the eyes. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled all three hops right away with Galaxy dominating, followed by Nelson and Mosaic. Specifically got passion fruit, mango, peach, grapefruit, tropical fruit, gooseberry, dank pine, floral and trash. A little fruitier from the can with notes of mango, tangerine and peach coming through. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted better than the nose. Got big Galaxy, then Nelson and less Mosaic. Also mango, peach, tangerine, passion fruit, grapefruit rind, dank pine, gooseberry and floral. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was just an excellent hazy IPA. Need to get some more of this. (Overall - 4.25)

Pours cloudy straw with a small but dense white head that leaves some lace. Nose was very dank...maybe one of the dankest beers I've had...which was weird because I was expecting lots of juice. Not a huge nose, but solid. Taste was a bit more juicy and creamy, but didn't quite hit the NE IPA notes I was looking for. Citrus, some tropical notes, and a finish without any real lingering bitterness as you'd expect. Overall, a decent beer but it didn't excite me.
