Was looking forward to trying another beer from the Chasing series. I previously gave Chasing Nelson a 4.12 on Dec. 31, 2019, Chasing Mosaic a 4.15 on June 1, 2020 and Chasing Galaxy a 4.05 on June 13, 2020. Have been having a lot of Strata beers lately and have been enjoying them. Beer description on Bine & Vine’s website called it, “Hazy IPA with 100% Strata hops. Potent aromas of pink guava, papaya, and those sticky, danky nugz soar above a soft and pillowy malt base.”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Plenty of bubbles and bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
First thing I smelled was guava, which is funny because I didn’t even see what I copied up above for the description. Pink guava? I can see that. Also Strata, red grapefruit, passion fruit, apricot, tangerine, papaya, dank pine and hints of weed. More dank weed and some earthy resin out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted even better than the nose. In order got Strata, pink guava, red grapefruit, passion fruit, apricot, tangerine, papaya, dank pine, resin and grassy weed. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Wow. Surprised at how good this was. Ended up being even better than Chasing Mosaic and Chasing Nelson for me. Just an excellent beer. (Overall - 4.25)

Cloudy appearance with plenty of foam in the footless Leute glass. The taste of honeydew melon is quite delightful. A scratch of astringency in the aftertaste but very little bitterness. A little malty sweetness, the long nose of aromatic fruit, and the tangy green melon is a recipe for success.
Another of these Resident IPAs that make elegant use of a single hop. And for what it's worth, this is exactly how you should make a New England-style beer if the haze, for some reason, is what you're after. From the undated 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine. Tastes plenty fresh, though.
