Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 17, 2021
Consumed: Oct. 7, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Headed over to Windmill Farms to look for some new North Park ones. Was out of luck there but did come away with eight other cans. Brief Untappd description was “Hazy IPA with Cryo Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra hops.”
Poured a medium yellow hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of white frothy head. Could see plenty of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect uneven foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled mango, papaya, Citra, pineapple, grapefruit, Mosaic, floral, melon, orange blossom, Simcoe, pine and hints of black pepper. (Smell - 3.50)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got mango, pineapple, grapefruit, melon, floral, orange rind and lingering peppery spice. Simcoe led the way for me, especially on the back end, followed by a close mix of Citra and Mosaic. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Dry finish. (Feel - 3.75)
This was good but not quite as good as I hoped it would be considering the hops and that it was a Resident beer. (Overall - 3.75)
