Brewed with Ekuanot, Citra, and Mosaic hops, Encinitas is a soft-textured and profoundly juicy Hazy IPA with notes of White Peach, Mango, and Tangerine.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (air) glass
Price: $4.79
From: Windmill Farms in San Diego (Del Cerro), Calif.
Purchased: Nov. 2, 2022
Consumed: Nov. 2, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date
Went to Windmill Farms for a West Coast IPA Burgeon/North Park/Pure Project collab and came away with a handful of other beers and a 6-pack of Enegren. Untappd description was “Brewed with Ekuanot, Citra, and Mosaic hops, Encinitas is a soft-textured and profoundly juicy Hazy IPA with notes of White Peach, Mango, and Tangerine.”
Poured a medium golden hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. Perfect foamy spiderweb lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled pretty damn good. The Ekuanot jumped out, mainly because it’s so different than the other two mentioned hops Citra and Mosaic. Also got Citra, grapefruit, berry, pineapple, peach, lime, Mosaic, tangerine, mango, floral and lemon. Not as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was not as good as the nose. In order got Ekuanot, spicy pepper, apple, herbal, hints of licorice, Citra, grapefruit, pineapple, lime, peach, Mosaic, tangerine, mango, floral, lemon and wet grass. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.75)
I pretty much underrated this at every category. This was better than very good and better than the 3.92 that the calculations ended up at. (Overall - 4.00)
