A sweet bretty yeast aroma. Big foamy head on medium yellow body. Smooth mouthfeel. Decent farmhouse and dirty blond taste. Good drinkability. Thanks Borain.

Holidays In The Sun is the absolute perfect name for a beer that looks like this: pristine clarity, energetic bubbles, bright yellow radiance and a head that's fluffy as a cloud. Yup, this both sounds and looks like the perfect summertime beer. Even the label is fantastic. I couldn't draw up a better farmhouse blond if I had the whole of Disney at my disposal.
There's a lot to like about the aroma too. Pungent, earthy-green hops underlie this mildly funky bouquet and its gently 'barnyard', 'horse blanket' notes. It's certainly an attention grabber and follows in the grainy, herbaceous and slightly spicy (i.e., white peppercorn) tradition of Saisons. There's also a tremendous amount of bitter, dried citrus peel in there too.
The palate is extremely soft and creamy, although it abruptly concludes with a snippy spiciness and a very delicate but decidedly earthy bitterness that carries overtones of tall field grass and even green herbs like oregano and thyme. Some fruit is in there too but it's subtle (though there's a really nice pineapple flavour that also develops).
And yet all that wonderful flavour disappears in the blink of an eye; the beer is so dry it erases pretty much any trace of itself. Of course this makes it all the more tempting to rush back in for another sip (and, believe me, the 500ml bottle only lasts a moment if you're not being mindful). It's got a light-as-a-feather body that adds to the infinite drinkability.
Ferris wheels by the boardwalk, muskoka chairs on the lake dock, fresh-picked food and navy skies at midnight - I can't think of a better beer to accompany it all than the superbly named Holidays In The Sun. The orchard and citrus fruits, the champion thoroughbred's breakfast grain bill, delicate earthiness and farmyard aromatics all make this a stunning and superb Saison.
