A crisp and light dry hopped lager. Brewed with locally grown and malted barley. This lager has light notes of toasted bread and water crackers with a touch of herbal
orange hop character and crisp carbonation.

Right to Farm is a Local Lager Series. Each lager in this series is made entirely with locally grown and malted grains.

This lager was brewed with the following malts:

Girl Power Pils, Munich, and VaVa Voam from all woman owned Dancing Grain Farm, NY

Vienna from Thrall Farm, CT

Each case of this beer supports 90 square feet of local farmland

Draft at the brewery
Big creamy foamy head good retention and lacing, clear honey blonde color

Nose grainy malt, an eastern European malt character, a bit of sourdough bread dough, wet straw but in a good way, very faint grassy hop

Taste more doughy cereal mash and bread dough, straw almost hay grain like but not earthy like that, more European lager malt character, light herbal grassy hop and hint of a mineral note, lighter bitterness up front bordering med on the finish, semi dry finish

Mouth is med to lighter bod, med carb

Overall not bad, less my style of lager but we'll done

Pretty pour - crystal clear golden color with a huge pristine foamy head thatfalls to a quarter inch of chunks and tremendous cling.

The smell is interesting. Lots of bready, doughy malt. Vaguely citrus that I reluctantly have to say is like lime. There's a nice herbal aroma over the top - like fresh basil and rosemary. It's pleasant enough and the herbal notes are a little interesting.

The taste is fairly bland except for the build up of the herbal tastes in the aroma. It's strong in the aftertaste. The rest is pretty pedestrian - just basic lager malts, really, that are on the bread dough side of the road. I do get a faint kiss of lime.

Medium bodied, very mild bitterness.

Overall, this is in JAB category - just a beer. It's tame, a bit mundane, nothing I'd rush out to buy again. Not bad, but it's not one of those simple beers that are executed so well you take notice.
