At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from their Lager Mix Six boxset at my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My second beer from the London, ON brewery.

Can from local bottle shop - Pours a hazed pale gold with a 2 finger puffy white cap that lasts.....aromas of grains, leafy hops, citrus...bright hoppy character, light on the palate, dray....flavor has hops and malts in balance in the front side but hopping increases in the dry bittering finish...a really nice lager...refreshing and hoppy

355 mL can from a six-pack purchased at the LCBO; dated Mar 10 2021 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear, pale golden-yellow colour, topped off with one finger of soapy, foamy white head that recedes within two or three minutes' time. A modest swath of lace is left in its wake, in addition to a thin, filmy cap and collar - looks like your average craft lager to me, but the aroma suggests that better things are coming. Smells clean, fresh and a little fruity - there's some gritty, grainy pale malts, as well as hints of lime, passion fruit, apricot, and grassy hay.

Its flavours are along the same lines - grainy pale malts and light doughy sweetness, backed by light, fruity hop characteristics of lemon-lime citrus, apricot and passion fruit. Hints of grassy hay and floral hop bitterness crop up at the back end of the sip, with a very clean finish followed by a relatively dry aftertaste. Light in body, with zippy carbonation that prickles and prods the palate enthusiastically with each sip; crisp, refreshing mouthfeel that encourages you to keep sipping. Maybe I've become too accustomed to tallboys, but one can of this just doesn't seem like enough - not even close.

Final Grade: 3.92, a very respectable B+. While it's true that my review history is overwhelmingly dominated by pale ales, I still drink pale lagers on a daily basis, and it's always wonderful to discover a new gem, a lager that I could easily see myself drinking with such regularity. Anderson's New Zealand Lager is just that - it's got just the right mix of simplicity, drinkability, and hoppiness, almost as if it were tailor made. A definite must-try if you enjoy craft lagers - I'll be picking it up again, that's for sure.
