i am fairly certain the full name of this is oodles of noodles, a collaboration with chicago brewer hopewell. the internet reveals multiple listings, but as far as i know, its only one beer, on tap at whiner, barrel fermented saison with huell melon and sorachi ace hops, awesome! the beer is great, simple from a grain base, an apparently obvious mix of brett strains all very mature and funky, aided and supported by a sturdy wet new oak profile, attractive and mouthwatering with just a little acidity to it and all the freshness of these fine hops, including lemon curd from the sorachi and soft grassy melon from the huell, a nice combination and well dosed. the hops are robust in the flavor too, faint lemony dish soap or something in the mix, but the hops are super fresh, which is a cool juxtaposition to the maturity and woodiness that underlies them. more lemon and brett at the end, notes of peach and white wine and culinary herbs, nuanced but robust at the same time, not so delicate, but still real drinkable. good stuff overall, unique with the brett layers and hop mix, well selected!
