Released a year ago, I feel odd adding the wit and offering the first review. (UnTappd classifies Chamo Meow as a BSPA, but Whiner calls it a wheat and the ABV is 6.5%... hence my choice of wit.)
Wonderfully refreshing.
Chamo Meow opens with average Looks, not a lot of foam and a clarity unusual for a cloudy wit. Smells lack the typical fruit bowl and spices, but are replaced with a subtle herbal; lead by the chamomile and gentle hops. Tastes follow closely, integrated; but extra points for refreshing-ness. In the mouth, its bubbles cleanse the palate for appetizers. I'd like to try Champ-Meow with a summer meal.
OA: I'm glad Whiner largely did this straight-up in the Belgian tradition instead of experimenting with, say, Brett. I was getting shy of Whiner for a while; now I am eager to keep trying their wares. They are, after all, Chicago's Southside Belgian-inspired brewer.
