Six years after Paracaidista first releases their flagship (or at least BA starts to list it), I find the next release of this nomadic micro at the Pilot Project. It is only on tap now and, I surmise, they will have to like each other to can this flagship. On UnTappd, this has 803 check-ins; so there must be several releases. UnTappd also list 92 beers for Paracaidista and BA lists one.

Their website and Instagram have lots of pretty photos. They now opened a Taproom, so Paracaidista (nomad in Spanish) is probably less so. The website says they are having a U.S. launch (finding a real home?) in 2024. We will see how that plays into Pilot Project's incubator model. In the meantime, little seems to hold back Paracaidista as they brew the gamut of lagers, ales and barrel-age. Lots of ambition nets them decent Overall Hugs from me.

Because Pilot Project serves its ales too cold for my palate, it is hard for me to give a positive and proper review. While Belgian for the Beach is hoppy for the saison style, it is in-range and appropriate for beach consumption... and probably a picnic there, although that remains to be tried next summer.

Pours a cloudy gold color. 1/5 inch head of an off-white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of yeast, sweet malt, slight grass, slight fruit, slight floral, and piney hops. Fits the style of a Saison / Farmhouse Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of yeast, sweet malt, slight grass, slight fruit, slight floral, hint of wheat, and piney hops. Overall, weak appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend.

Yellow color with a thin head with short retention.
Delicious aroma with notes of lychees, blueberries, some sourness, a bit of pine, mint, lemon, white wine and roses.
Flavor with notes of blueberries, chardonnay, lemon, lychees, white pepper and a bit of mango. Quite dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness. Decent attenuation is helping its 25 IBUs.
Light to medium body with mild carbonation. So not effervescent as usual. Alcohol of 8% is very well hidden.
More fruity than spiced Saison with good complexity and elegantly attenuated. Mosaic and Northern Brewer were evident. Worth trying. Well done chilangos.

A great beer with a very fruity aroma and a copper color, few head but with a very good retention of it, great balanced taste between sweet and bitterness and for the aftertaste the spicy notes of the alcohol.

Very well brewed beer
