In honor of the Bicentennial of Chicago and the Tricentennial of New Orleans, our breweries have collaborated with the Chicago Brewseum and the Southern Food Beverage Museum to create a beer rooted in the shared history and culture of Chicago and New Orleans. A beer from our Pilot Series, this is a variation of our Coop'd Up Tart Farmhouse Ale with copious amounts of Raspberry Puree.

I picked up because illuminated does A. Fun and weird things, and B. the results are usually good. This was another example, where they put as much tart raspberry into a beer as they could, and damn if it isn't tasty. A sour raspberry warhead of a beer, very intense. No nuance, no complex supports, just tart raspberry with a little wheat and belgian yeast. Take it or leave it. Tart with some sweetness on the finish that accumulates acidity. Body is medium, pour is raspberry reddish magenta, and the smell is tart raspberry to the face with some belgian yeast yogurt.

A - Raspeberry color (pink/red), hazy, dense white lacing.

S - Tart funky raspberry aroma.

T - Tart, vinous raspberry from start to finish with light acidity, a small amount of funk, and a puckering fruity finish.

M - Big medium body, dry on top of the tongue and very wet on the sides of the mouth.

O - Not too sour with the right amount of tartness.
