Copenhagen 19/4 2022. 35,5 cl can from Shop N Play Kiosken, Rosenørns Allé, Frb. C. Green and red tangerine on a orange can.
Pours almost luminescent sharp yellow with a small white head. Bubbly. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sharp citric sour scent with a tart twist. Sour tangerine and citrus. Light whiff of sweet Fanta. A cup of sour lemonade.
Strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively and tingling texture. As bit fizzy.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong tart sourness. Aftertaste sour and a bit unforgiving. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Sharp, sour and fresh. Pretty straightforward.

Pop! Tangerine Sour, canned 12/23/20, 3.9% ABV, into Crooked Stave Willie.
Hazy pineapple juice colored with a tall creamy white head of 2 fingers. Leaves quite a bit of lace behind as it recedes.
Aroma from the can is cereal mash and mimosa, quite an interesting combination. More of that malt-o-meal aroma from the glass, with some sweet prairie hay, lemongrass, mango bubblegum, and tangerine.
Flavor is light like a mimosa (the can was correct) with a creamy Orange Bubbalicious flavor. It's candy-like. The bulk of the flavor comes and goes quite quickly though, leaving only slight grass and slight orange bread/muffin on the back palate.
Feel is creamy and smooth like a mimosa and just as spritzy; no heat as expected, some dryness on the back palate.
Overall, a fun-one-and-done. Something that wasn't worth the Rouses $2.49 single price, and not worth it to me to buy a whole sixer at $8.99. Glad I was able to try one before committing. Personally if you're into Mimosas you might really enjoy this beer. On the palate it empties out faster than a Hummer in the mountains though.
Price paid : $2.49 / can
Would buy again : nah

"Pop! Tangerine Sour" (I guess older cans called this beer "Orange Pop!" but it's always been brewed with tangerines, never oranges - or so I've read).
3.7% ABV per the label on the can (even though their website claims it's 4.5% ABV). 10 IBUs. "Malt beverage with natural flavors." 128 kCal. 13g carbohydrate, 1g protein, 0g fat. "Tangerine sour." "A sour wheat ale, [sic] aged on tangerine puree..."
$9.99 USD plus tax per sixer of 12 fl oz pull-tab cans at a Rouses Market in Metairie, Louisiana. Packaged 11/15/20.
Served cold into a dimpled mug.
Tangerine and citrus are evident alongside mild (~2-3/10 sourness). Sourness is clean and sterile, indicating this was brewed with lactobacillus cultures instead of wild yeast(s), more varied bacteria, etc. I find no microflora, rich rustic oak/woodsy flavours, barnyard character, brettanomyces yeast(s), et al. I guess they just slipped in a lacto culture and dumped it into stainless steel...
It's a bit bland for a tangerine sour ale, and they don't nail the mimosa flavour profile they're clearly after. Using fresh cut tangerines instead of canned tangerine puree, aging in oak/wood instead of stainless steel, utilizing more varied bacteria, and letting the yeast decide the ABV would make this beer far better.
It's a cheap low ABV faux-sour ale that seems to be marketed to the calorie-conscious or something...I don't really get what they're after here, but if they were just trying for a beer that tastes like a mimosa then they fell well short even of that gimmick. Drinkable, sure, and I do like the simple effectiveness of sourness & acidity married to citric fruit, but in the greater New Orleans market, Urban South is up against distribution/competition from the likes of breweries like Westbrook and Parleaux Beer Lab...if I'm buying a fruited sour, Urban South isn't high on my list.

Pop! has a thin, fizzing-away off-white head, a semi-clear, very bubbly, straw-gold appearance with no lacing. The aroma is of mild, yeasty white bread, faint fruit, and tartness. The taste is similarly mild, with no bitterness. Pop! has a medium body, and a crisp finish.
