A: Pours a muddled murky, near opaque pale yellow color. A one finger white head forms and recedes after a minute. Light lace is left behind. Looks chunky, if that is your thing.
S: Juicy fruit up front. All kind of muddled and fades quickly. The typical nose for such a beer, and while nothing lingers, and fades to fast, up front is enjoyable for what it is.
T: Again, that quickly fading juicy fruit flavor. Which I have never been very good at describing, it always seems muddled and nothing pops for me. There is an odd sweetness here, maybe some caramel malts as well. Just as I'm about to finish the glass, a faint touch of bitterness shows up. Just kind of ill defined.
M/O: A medium body that is muddled, with low carbonation. This becomes a bit chewy. A typical murk bomb, and just OK. I can't say this is any better or worse than any other examples from the style I have had.
I think all of their IPA's are of the murk bomb variety, and wanting to try at least one I had no real option. Lately I have been avoiding these as much as I can, but when visiting here I didn't have much of a choice. I'm still baffled why people think these are so "juicy". I mean, there is a little fruit juice up front but then, as always with the style, fades to an annoying nothingness. If you like this style, sure give it a try, but I still can't find anything I really enjoy about them.
