A: Pours an opaque garnet red color. A two finger pink head forms and sticks around for a minute. Plenty of lace left behind.
S: Fruit puree and sweetness. Certainly raspberry, and that is about it.
T: Big raspberry fruit and really sweet. Like drinking that Minute Maid raspberry lemonade. Tart and acidic, and I think I would really enjoy this if the sweetness was toned down a bit. Though as is, more of a sugary fruit smoothie drink, which I do enjoy from time to time. Just not all the time.
M/O: A medium to full body. Good carbonation, though becomes chewy, thick and syrupy after a while. Which was a little more than I expected. A nice enough fruit "sour" that becomes a little too sweet for my tastes.
I never know what style to add beers like this as. Now that I think about it the Fruit and Field Beer category might be better...oh well. Though, this is more of a fruit cocktail malt beverage, or some brunch like drink with a ton of fruit juice and puree. While those can be refreshing on occasion, not something I can see myself coming back to a lot. I would rather have a traditional lambic than something like this. Again not bad, and probably exactly what Urban South wanted to make, just didn't hit with me.
