Perhaps one of the most intriguing beers I've drank to date.
Pours a dirty, dark yellow with a heavy murky transparency with visible floaties. One finger of tan foam. Looks like caramel syrup with blended oats in suspension, all topped with tapioca pudding.
Aroma is caramel, toffee, chocolate, and candied sugar. Leans into Russel Stover candied notes. Toasty, caramely malts work alongside nutmeg, and lactose. Perhaps it's the look setting expectations, but it reminds me of egg nog.
Flavor profile is heavy toffee and caramel, like drinking a Starbuck's caramel frappacino. Syrup, candied sugar, and toasty, bready, and caramely malts add depth and support. Some final sweetness comes in via lactose.
Mouth feel is thick, creamy, and decadent. It's like drinking pudding through a straw.
Overall, full pudding cup with some caramel syrup added. Very unique, and intriguing.
Served in a 16oz shaker pint from a 16oz can. Reviewed by hand, then transcribed to BA.
