Poured into a Fremont small snifter.Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a very fizzy one finger khaki head that dissipates to sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coffee, nuts, cocoa and a hint of coconut. Flavor is dark toasted malt, hazelnuts, coconut, banana and milk chocolate; a hint of tartness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess and sharp carbonation. One of the busy pastry style stouts out there with lots of adjunct flavors. This one made me nervous on the pour because of the effervescent activity of the head, but all seems well in the taste, perhaps a slight sour note in the finish that could just be banana esters. Still glad I'm not aging stouts any more. I'm on the fence now about pastry stouts with many just so sweet that the second half of the glass is trying. Although it has nuts, coconut and bananas, this is lightly to moderate sweet and never became cloying for me. The banana is the dominant flavor here, with light to moderate nuts and coconut; the flavor balance is winning. I'll probably never see this one again, but I'd certainly buy if I did.
