The Propagator is an R&D pilot brewhouse that sets the pace for what’s next from Firestone Walker. The Venice Taproom presents a gastropub feel with a menu geared for beer. The adjoining bar offers Firestone Walker favorites, including taps dedicated to Barrelworks wild ales as well as limited Venice-only beers made in the adjacent Propagator brewhouse.

Went here for my nieces graduation. LARGE party out on the patio. The app system made it so we could all order food or drinks as was needed. Did they get out to use quickly...meh. But come on, large party. Food was good, beer was fantastic.

Stopped here for a solo lunch on a Saturday, right at opening.
The place is nice, I really liked the decor and the vibe. Some tables/benches built out of old brewing vessels, stools made out of barrel staves. It's big. Staff was friendly and helpful, though they didn't really take time to chat with me (which is understandable). Wasn't super busy at the time I was there.
Selection was good. I was delighted to have Wookie Jack (and take some crowlers of it with me to my hotel and to share with friends), had various vintages of big barrel aged stuff.
I had a tri tip sandwich that was pretty good. Would definitely try other items on the menu.
100% would go back and would recommend to others.

Based on the ratings here, I was expecting more. It has a large building with both indoor and outdoor seating. Beer selection was pretty good, and my shrimp po boy was alright. Problem was with the service. There was no waitress, they had some kind of app system for ordering which neither my friend or I could figure out. We would have to walk up to the bar and order there. Strange. Overall I had a mediocre experience.

Came here with my wife on a recent trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.
Tried the following:
Firestone Walker Luponic Distortion Revolution No. 010 (draft)
Firestone Walker Propagator Generation 1 IPA (draft)
Both beers were phenomenal, and my wife enjoyed her Pivo Pils and sauvignon blanc. Also had a first-rate meal that included the Caesar Salad, Ahi Tuna, Rustica Carne pizza, and Chocolate Pretzel Brownie for dessert. Gorgeous, spartan interior with a diverse array of seating options and some games on the flat screens. Service was strong as everything came to the table quickly. Really liked how the beer menu described each beer in detail (appreciated by these tourists). Overall, we had a near-flawless experience and Firestone Walker is one of the best breweries we've ever visited. Highly recommend this place.

Another great FW way station. Great facilities ( Tao room/restaurant and store). Excellent selection of FW beers and a few guest brews, etc. Todays selection covered all the usual suspects, and few seasonals and a Parabola showcase of the latest 2020 version as well as Parabajava; Cocoanut Parabola and Napa Parabola. Guillermo behind the bar was super friendly; spot on helpful and also a great guy to discuss/critiques beers with. Was @ lunchtime on a Wednesday, but still a decent group of people there for food and beer. Everyone there seemed to be having a good time. Really enjoyed it. Also...only 10-15 minutes from LAX in Marina Del Ray.

The beer is the star of the show here. It’s all good, a lot of it great. The staff was cool. I hated the soulless restaurant vibes. Just couldn’t shake that. Otherwise, really top notch stuff.

Vibe: Big screens for sports in the bar area, restaurant seating in the back. In addition to the seating at the bar, there is another bar area with both private tables and communal seating. Clean, comfortable, friendly environment.
Quality: Pricing is about what you would expect for a restaurant/pub that serves good food and beer.
Service: Full menu in the bar area. The service for me has always been great.
Selection: This all depends on whether you like Firestone beer or not. If you go there, I'm guessing you like their beer, so from that perspective, the selection is great. They often have specialty flights and pours, always something locally brewed and occasionally some specialty kegs, like Parabanilla. Crowlers and bottles to go, plus a bottle shop on the other side of the parking lot.
Food: Very good food that pairs well with beer.

Cool place. Came in on a Friday afternoon. Not packed. Lunch was good; the buffalo cauliflower was nice. Solid burgers available. Beer selection is quite nice, with at least a dozen FSW beers on draft and at least that many available in bottles for on-site or to go. In particular, their Bottleworks sours are available and at a price competitive to any bottleshop in Southern California. There is a gift shop in the other building though I did not check that out. A good place to get a beer, especially if you are coming in and out of LAX- it isn't all that far away.

Very cool joint. It was nice having access to brews they sell that I can't buy in Virginia, particularly the Scotch Parabola. My suitcase was heavier on the flight back home.

12/19/17: Day trip into California for beach and brews. Firestone did not disappoint. Stepped first into the adjacent gift shop, nice selection and offerings, picked up a sale 805 tee-shirt for $13 w/ tax. Next the bar, modern decor. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, answered questions well, put the hockey on per my request! Had the fish and chips, which was very good, followed by four pours. Various standbys, rotating taps and classics / rarities were available. Merchandising group came in later but service held up well. Overall great outing and will definitely return if back in the area! Well done, Firestone Walker!

Stopped in for lunch while traveling for business. Location near the airport was super convenient.
Service at the bar was fast and friendly. Good selection with most beers available in sample and/or half pour offerings. Was great to try some of the Barrelworks beers and small batch beers brewed on-site.
Food was good if a little pricey but maybe that's normal for this part of the country.
Overall, ended up being a great place to kill a few hours before a flight.

Visited the Propagator this past Sunday for lunch and some beers.
V: Great vibe, love the look, has that old/new pub feel to it, the servers were really nice and on it, a little noisy but it was tolerable for my wife and kids.
Q: Can't complain about this, great beers to choose from along with great food. I had a burger that came out hot with fresh bread and veggies on it, my wife and kids enjoyed the food as well.
S: Great service, it was busy yet our server was right on it.
S: Great selection of beers, some brewed there along with their regular lineup and a few vintage taps.
F: Food was right on however I think it is a little pricey compared to other similar restaurants but it's Firestone that make up for it with great beers.
After eating and having a few beers I walked across the parking lot to the brewery store. They had a great selection of bottles and cans to take home, Parabola, Stickee Monkee, and Bravo along with some Barrelworks beers, also have merchandise there as well. Definitely going to visit this place again.

Came here on a weekday as soon as it opened. Great feel of a craft bar. They have tons of brewery only options as well as Barrelworks, an Walker's Reserve. Pork belly tacos and a flight made for a great lunch! Would love to come back.

Another great FW location. Feels a lot like the Buellton location in terms of the pours of the big boys (Parabola, Abacus, etc.) in that you can only get small (3 ounce?) pours. But there were plenty of other gems on tap including Bretta Weisse and Keller Pivo Pils which was phenomenal.
The space is big and wasn't too crowded when I was there. Parking seemed like it could be hectic.
Didn't try the food but looked standard.
After you drink your beers, or before, you can cross the parking lot and hit their gift store for swag or beer to go.

What a great place for Los Angeles, especially by the beach. Great location, easy to get to and to find.
Inside is big and spacious with a very easy feeling. FW clearly has spent some money and it's just a very nice place to taste, drink and eat. Super comfortable, really capable and friendly service and a nice selection of beer, including a couple of taps that are "tap room only" which makes it all the better.
There is no question but that FW make high quality beer and while the food may need a little adjusting, all in all it's better than most food places at breweries,
The "brewery" is small and will likely make beer only for the tap room. This is really intended as a full service "beer" restaurant. However, it has large parking lots, easy parking, a large "gift store" and is generally a pretty cool place to hang out and have some good beer.
I'll return; I suspect several times!

Open and expansive, large wrap-around bar, booths which seem like you are in a barrel. Sourced and in-house special offerings are sure to please all from the newbie to the beer geek. Service is responsive and plentiful. Lots of choices and variety. Food is a bit pricey, but good.

Firestone's Venice hub has finally opened and the spot is pretty Awesome! The vibe has a re-purposed brewhouse industrial theme. The food is reminiscent of Firestone's Bottleworks location, slightly upscale and quite tasty. There are a number of great in-house offerings, including collaborations and special releases. The crowd can be a little annoying and not very chill - but given the location, a bit expected. However, once ready to leave there are growler fills and great bottles to go!!!
