12oz can served in a tulip. 2024 can, stamped on the bottom QE 12.03.24. Bought it a couple weeks ago at Bottleworks.
Pours dark brown, almost black, with a medium sized dark brown head that settles into a thin tan ring. Smell is roasty, a little coffee and cream, some vanilla and more chocolate. Aroma might be a bit on the muted side, but it smells good.
Taste is a little cola, more anise, very bitter coffee, all suggestion of creaminess seems to be gone. Vanilla might be there, but hiding behind some char. Booze becomes very noticeable with the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is thick, rich, and surprisingly prickly. Overall, it's pretty nice.

An 8 ounce draft pour, with another 8 ounce refill, at the brewery into a tulip glass.
Look- Black, opaque, medium brown sudsy head, average head retention, below average lacing.
Smell- Bourbon, chocolate, oak, vanilla,
high strength of scent.
Taste- Bourbon, highly boozy, oak, vanilla, slight cacao, high strength of flavor.
Feel- Between medium and full body, average carbonation, highly boozy, highly mouth warming, moderate bitterness, moderately creamy.
Overall- Black and opaque with a medium brown sudsy head and average head retention. Bouquet was bourbon, chocolate, oak and vanilla with a high strength of scent, which was dreamy. Taste was bourbon, oak, vanilla, slight cacao and highly boozy with a high strength of flavor. Feel was between medium and full body with highly mouth warming property and moderate creaminess and bitterness. Overall this beer provided an outstanding drinking experience. Extremely bold nose and flavors that were outstanding headlined the bill. My only complaint would be the bourbon masks some of the other flavors, but I would prefer the barrel aging be heavy handed. This was a superior offering!

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a thin milk chocolate head that dissipates to a thin film with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, whiskey, chocolate and some woody oak. Flavor is dark toasted and dry biscuit malt, whiskey, bakers chocolate and a touch of coffee. Somewhat hot in the finish with more chocolate and oak. Medium bodied with nice, moderate creaminess. A rich barreled stout with good chocolate and whiskey character and fine mouth feel. This bottle has settled for half a year, but is still fairly boozy, which is not too bad for the good whiskey flavor. My first big ale from this brewery and I'm pleased. Going to check out their barleywine too.
