Grunt fill from Albertsons. Light, but bright golden, airy head fades to skin. Grainy aroma, taste too. Nice malty flavor, mild hoppy bite at the finish, some citrus.

a pretty solid german pils here, maybe slightly hoppier than many of them, but a nice brew, they seem to have quality pretty well dialed in here. this is obviously german to me on the grain and yeast side, and its subtle in the right ways, not quite as dry and crisp as the very best of them, but still real drinkable, and i kind of like the extra substance this seems to have, flavorful and not all that quick, which i like sometimes. the yeast has a doughy thing to it, the grain a light honey note but still earthy and crackery and simple. the hops are green tea, dried grass, straw, and soft lime to me, great balance in this, the right amount of bitterness, and maybe a bit more body than some have, but it works with these flavors for me. carbonation is there, its nice and smooth, and there is a clean mineral profile that i really like as well. i guess if i am being critical this could be a little lighter and brighter overall, but i like the flavors and dont mind a little extra structure keeping them around a bit. simple and basic beer, but well executed. they have a good thing going here at rants and raves!
