Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a ruddy semi-dark orange almost brown color. Thin white foamy head. Slow dissipation. Moderate lace. The aroma starts with some sweet wheat rolling on into big piney and citrusy bitter hops. Malts are there but low key. The flavor leans sweet with a nice dropout of the citrusy hops. It seems it’s all about the pine and the wheat. Some toast. Quick bitter piney aftertaste with a semi-sharp bitter finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a tolerant bitter carbonation. Bitterness of the hops plays with the hops fairly brisk. Mostly sessionable. Overall, pretty good APWA brewed in the same style of 3F’s Gumballhead and Lagunitas’ A Lil Sumpin Sumpin. This one shows some differences but still does well for the style. I would preferably have again in the Summer.
