L: Pitch black with 1.5 inch tannish brown head. Quite thick and sticky.
S: Chocolate, roasted malts, and fresh coffee.
T: Rich dark chocolate, bit of milk sweetness. Coffee comes through nicely without being overwhelming. Notes of dark fruits and fig. hints of spice.
F: Thick and nice. bit of warming alcohol but it is quite pleasant and balanced with the beer.
O: Great. What is has going on is done very well.

Bottle Date: growler 10/15/16
Palate Contaminants: other beer

Appearance is pitch black. It doesn't let any light through, even at the edges. There's a little bit of brown head.

The smell is freshly ground coffee. There's also a little bit of dark chocolate.

The taste is roasted malt with less of the coffee, and it's very smooth, not bitter at all. There's also some lactic sweetness. The whole thing kinda tends toward chocolate covered bananas, but those aren't the exact flavors. I don't know, maybe they are. Overall, it's not complex, but what's there is good. Sweet, savory, and toasty.

A swish around the mouth brings out some coarse but not prickly carbonation. A little bitterness starts to show up in the aftertaste, but that's cured with another sip. Nice medium weight, little stickiness.

Poured from a growler filled at the brewery.

Pours blacker than George R.R. Martin's heart. Has a huge 3-finger tan head that refuses to go away. Leaves plenty of sticky lacing.

The aroma is just stupid. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate lead the way, followed by some sweeter milk chocolate and char. The back end has some subtle notes of black cherries and fig, with just a faint kiss of caramel. Slightly nutty throughout.

The taste brings plenty of burnt coffee, dark chocolate, and some very light dark fruits. There's also a bit of tobacco on the finish.

The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The alcohol is definitely present but not overpowering. Relatively smooth and creamy.

Overall, an excellent imperial stout that has one of the best aromas in the history of nasal passages. The taste and mouthfeel don't quite match up but overall this is a fantastic beer. Foam Brewers can do no wrong.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a pitch black color with 2 inches of medium brown head. Good deal of lacing. Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate and earth. Tastes like dark chocolate dipped berries. Some coffee as well as earth. Espresso and berry finish. Medium bodied with a moderate alcohol presence. Overall, a solid Imperial stout.

A: Pitch black in color with a thick fizzy mocha head that dissipates into a foamy, sticky lacing.
S: Rich notes of coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, hint of bourbon, quite lovely!
T: Oh wow, upon sipping I instantly notice dark roasted coffee with rich dark malts. I can taste raisin and a sweet chocolate presence makes its way in the taste.
M: Moderate carbonation, big bodied beer yet it's very drinkable. The alcohol is well hidden. Smooth with almost no bitterness.
O: These guys can make stouts too apparently! Wow, this beer is ludicrous.!!
