On tap at the brewery. They poured into a tulip. The appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of tan foamy head that dissipated at a great pace. Speckled lacing ran around the glass nicely. The aroma had a big roasty coffee to cocoa bean. Robust with a smooth vanilla bean and then subtle cinnamon, seemingly only to balance. The flavor leads with the robust coffee and cocoa bean tones. Vanilla comes in nicely. Then the cinnamon just like in the aroma. Well balanced milk choclatey aftertaste with any barely noticeable spice. Smooth milk chocolate finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sipping quality about it. Appropriately carbonated, smoothness takes some creepiness to over top the cinnamon. Overall, extremely nice imperial stout that I would love to drink all Winter.

Poured from a 750 swing top growler, been in the growler for 6 days.
Thick, viscous, syrupy appearance on pour. Deep, opaque black. I finger head of fine foam, dark tan, slowly settles to thin cap and thicker ring around the glass. No light passes through.
The first thing I pick up is dark chocolate cake, sweetness, smells like a dessert. Pleasing, makes you want to take a sip.
Rich chocolate cake, like devils food, roasted malts, bit of booze as it warms. Hidden behind the big up-front flavors are some dark fruits, fig. Touch of sweetness, but balanced together with roast and bitterness. A bit of booziness comes out when it warms in my glass.
Smooth as silk, fairly full bodied, nice carbonation level.
Overall an exceptional brew. Perfect for after my Thanksgiving meal, shared by friends, everyone was pleased.
