this is really nice on the hop side of things, tropical fruit like pineapple and kiwi, but its so milky, like, white in the glass, thick to drink on, and with and real weight to it, that its somewhat unappealing at the same time that i cant set me glass down because i love the smell and taste, like better as a scented candle or a hard candy than as a drink, its thick and starchy, like the first washing of white rice, just too much of that for this to present itself as refined at all, even if the hop profile is dialed in. it kind of comes in fruit and grain pairs to me, honeydew melon and oats, pineapple and honey granola, lemons and white wheat, its flavorful and good, doesnt drink as strong as it is either, but some amount of cleaning up of all the leftovers from the grain in here is needed for this to have any kind of appeal beyond a single glass, at least for me. like its hazy for the sake of it, and i really dont dig that. i do love the dry hopping though, and appreciate the flavors they have created here, it really works...

I was confused by the name because Manteca is slang in Guatemala and other spanish speaking countries for butter. I happen to be friends with some people who work at Foam and they said that it doesent have anything to do with butter but i dont know. I got a growler of it and when it poured it almost looked like liquid butter (thick haze). It also left a nice coating in the mouth like any fat would (specifically butter). The flavor is amazing and as always with foam, it is very juicy with amazing fruit forward tastes reminiscence of mango, papaya, maybe some stone fruit and almost custard apple (look it up). S**Ts legit

Growler brought home.
This was poured into a tulip,
The appearance was a glossy burnt dark yellow close to orange hazy sort of color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off very nicely. Some sliding lace.
The aroma had some soft sweet orange pulp, somewhat like blood orange encasing around crushed pineapple sweetness and then pulling in light notes of lemongrass, freshly cut grass, and a touch of cracker malt in the background.
The flavor was fully sweet through those prior notes but also pulling in that semi-stifling cracker malt for balance just before the aftertaste hits. The aftertaste was rounded out through the pineapple, orange and cracker malt.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Finish was a bit sticky, but not distracting, and seemed to have some of that pineapple-like structure.
Overall, so many beers, so little time, I gotta keep up with the pace that Foam is putting out.
