Growler filled today.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a thick dark brown close to black color with a thin cap of a little tan foamy head. Slid off mildly and left some mild stringy lace running here and there.
The aroma blended wonderfully between roasty and sweet coffee portions, somewhat like espresso pulling in wonderful tones of sweet wood, slight oak, a touch of vanilla, light peanut-sweetness then some milk chocolate.
The flavor seemed to mirror the aroma pretty spot on - taking those prior mentioned aromas to mesh sweetly with the roast delving in for an exceptional balance. Mild aftertaste of the sweet wood, milk chocolate, sweet coffee/espresso, light vanilla and then an ever so slight touch of dark chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fine sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine, somewhat low, but I didn't mind. ABV felt pretty close to what was projected. Slight sweet coffee to milk chocolate sort of finish.
Overall, American Double/Imperial Stout? Well, hells to the yeahs, it damn well is and done exceptionally well.

On tap at Foam Brewers in Burlington, VT.
This one pours a fairly dark and glossy black, with a small tight and foamy head, and a lot of lacing.
This one smells like sweet, creamy, and caramelly coffee, with vanilla creamer, fudgy chocolate, and very light roast.
This has a somewhat peculiar feel- it's silky but also kind of oily. The flavors are pretty spot on though, it's got a nice roasty and smoky bitterness, with very sweet coffee on top of it- notes of vanilla and caramel dominate, with toffee and slight nuttiness. There's a lot of chocolatey goodness as well. Some people might dislike this, as it's fairly smoky, but I can dig that.
This is medium bodied and very, very creamy, with a soft and silky level of carbonation.
