16oz can, tulip glass. Cloudy, pulpy and hazy yellow body, one finger white head, good retention, not much lacing. Smell is tropical fruit, spicy herbal notes, a bit of floral and grapefruit, mild caramel backbone, more spiciness throughout, light mineral. Flavour is a sweet and mild caramel malt backbone which lies underneath a big tropical fruit hop aroma, herbal and floral notes, light grapefruit, not particularly zesty, nelson spiciness and bitterness on the backend. In the grand scheme of New England style IPAs, this is on the slightly more bitter and spicier hop side, but remains way less bitter than other IPAs out there. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, spicy hop burn with a mild herbal bitterness on the backend.

looks and smells alright, but the palate is overly harsh... i appreciate a super bitter beer that is well balanced, but this just comes off as astringent. perhaps it will improve with some time.

All New Zealand hops, and while juicy, this one leans towards the bitter side of Foam's offerings. Forgettable.
