On tap at the brewery.
This was poured into a flared tulip.
The appearance was a beautiful dark brown close to black color with a stifled tan one finger's worth of head falling off nicely to leave some messy lace.
The aroma was magical! An absolutely amazing amount of sweet and roasty coffee rolling into toasted nutty and bready notes. Subtle vanilla beans soaked in bourbon meshed in with some warmth. Cocoa nibs buttering up the backbone.
The flavor yields towards the sweet side initially but does develop a keen jawbone of some bitterness. Vanilla beans - rum soaked subtly with some dark toast and milk chocolate. Mellow aftertaste of dry cocoa beany powder.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation with some dryness and a touch of stickiness. Very nice smooth quality with a keen finish of dry cocoa beany powder.
Overall, I'm awake, how about you? It'll wake you up in a very nice way and absolutely makes a fine Winter's evening.
