16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $4.99. Canned on: 10/21/25, so this beer is just over four months old.

Look: Pours a very nice reddish amber color with nice clarity. The tan-colored head was about two fingers tall initially, until it ultimately dissipated to a thin layer. If I didn't know, I could have guessed that this was a Celebration Ale. Looks very nice.

Smell: Very nice piney and grapefruit aromas, along with woodsy notes. I'm also getting a fruity berry note. There's a floral rose-like note as well. And there is of course a nice malty, caramelly backbone underneath all of the hops. Peppery / green bell pepper notes on the finish. Very clean and inviting.

Taste: Very tasty. The flavors on the palate very much echo the nose. Up front, it is hoppy and a bit fruity with the berry and floral rose notes. There is a really nice flavor from the caramel malt backbone that provides a delicious foil to the grapefruity hops. The finish is moderately bitter with lots of grapefruit rind and pith, as well as peppery notes. After the hop bitterness subsides the finish also has a really nice toasted grain character, which is an uncommon feature in IPAs. More subtle pumpernickel, licorice, and chocolate notes on the finish as well.

Feel: It is medium plus bodied with a bit of chewiness and a crisp, clean finish.

Overall: It's a great beer, and it fits in really well with some of the other winter IPAs like Celebration Ale. There's something that I really like about the contrasting grapefruity, citrusy, piney hops with the toasty, caramel malt backbone. Wonderfully balanced. This beer is super drinkable and really delicious. They really nailed it. Excellent!

Draught. Malty and black peppery. Very subtle yeast notes.

Moderate creaminess to the tan head, adequate retention, wispy if long lacing. Coppery red colored liquid, not clear, not filmy, good amount of beads of tiny bubbles. Nose of honey, biscuit, pink grapefruit, on the sweet side and feels slightly reduced (at two months out), light dankness, mixed tropical fruit scents. Full-bodied, sluggish if not outright heavy. Not perceiving much carbonation. Caramel, honey, biscuit and oats, close in nature to the nose. Creamier upon the mouth entry then crisper at the finish. The pineapple, guava, peach fruit comes off as dry. It's funny because originally IPAs were made to survive long voyages over the sea. Now if an IPA is two months old you worry it's OTH. Of course now there's a variety of IPA styles which determines their sturdiness over time. But I hate the paranoia. In the end, for me, I really like Foam beers but this is average and I lost interest quickly enough. (Canned 12/5/23)

12/5/23 dated tall can.

Pours darker, honey amber, with just a light haze, under a dark khaki and lasting cap, and leaving strands and mini fields of lacing.

On the nose its more honey and some flowery hop notes.

Earthy, malty, fruity beer....different from so many other Vermont IPAs....but delicious in its own way.

Super smooth as it passes through the mouth.

Love the beers from Foam Brewers....this one is well worth a try.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass. Pours amber yellow with minimal foamy head. Subtle tastes of sweet piney resin with subtle notes of toffee. Sucker for the style and this is well done.

From a 16 oz. can dated 06/1/23. Sampled July 29, 2023.

A surprising amber appearance underneath a modest beige head. Yet it is also hazy. Fascinating.

Aroma of toffee and caramel malts with a resinous and pine hop sensation. Both are balanced and about equal.

Medium mouthfeel. Crisp too.

Sweet malt characters in the flavor with a measurable pine and resin hop balance. I thought this was more like a traditional IPA than a modern one. I was suitably impressed.
