unique sour here, absolutely packed with fruit and a truly electric and sexy pink color makes it stand out, not the kind of thing i envision when i think about foam, but this is rock solid, contemporary, and very tasty. a deep past flamingo shade of pink, almost purple, heavy color saturation and very little head from the tap, light haziness and some density to it, but not at all sloppy or unrefined looking. this is done with blackberries and lemon, a cool combination, but its a weird complexion from the blackberry, not weird, but not conventional either, sweet and tangy both, sort of candied to me, like if this is whole fruit its a little curious, but the lemon is as strong as the berry in aroma and flavor too, lots of acid making it pop and countering the residual sugar, but this still hits with a bit of a kool aid vibe, not a gimmick or anything cheap to me, just perhaps at a dosage thats turned way way way up. the souring is clean on this, but significant, couldnt probably drink four of these, but one is fun for sure. the lemon lingers, it has a lot of body for what it is, surprised this isnt more alcoholic, kind of feels on the palate like it should be or is. it stays with me a minute, real piquant but also pretty clean, no brett or funk or wood or anything apparent. neat mineral profile, almost a salted vibe, earthy through the fruit. flavorful, maybe too bold for a food beer, but the flavors work well together, this is very distinctive overall, and i think it could easily turn into a series for them, raspberry and lime, mango and orange, that sort of thing. decidedly new school, but not packed with lactose and other junk, real good for what it is.
