A brand new offering as we settle into sweater resurrection season. Heavy Water is a 5.8% American Stout brewed with roasted malts and hopped with some West Coast Chinook. These ingredients combine to create toasty aromas on the nose, black coffee flavors on the palate, and flavors reminiscent of baker’s chocolate on the finish.

Heavy Water pours black with a small, tan head. The aroma is filled with roasted malt notes. The flavor is toasty, with lots of roasted cereal, a bit more bitter, and a good feel. Overall, it's a no-frills stout, a bit more on the bitter side.

Pours black with a creamy tan brown foam head. Notes of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, creamy caramel, molasses, toasty brown sugar, toffee, roasted coffee, hint of dark berry and piney hops. Feels medium bodied, creamy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a really nice stout.

Black pour with a tan head that disappears fairly quickly. This stout plays it safe--sure it's roasty, but not overly so. There's coffee flavor, some chocolate, even a touch of berry. It straddles the sweet and bitter line and while I admire the restraint, it leaves you short of robust, and closer to "meh".

Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a black body with sticky lacing.
Nose of dark roasted malt, chocolate malt, and milk chocolate as it warms a bit.
Taste mirrors nose pretty closely with chocolate from start to a slightly dry and slightly bitter chocolate finish.
Mouthfeel is nice and silky with medium carbonation.
Overall, a real tasty American Stout that deserves a try.
