Pours a coppery brown with a quickly disappearing tan head. Toffee nose. One of the more roasted barley-forward barleywines that I have tasted. Really deep malt flavor. Caramel predominates along with brown sugar and a hint of cherries. Enjoyed the robust flavor--this felt like an Americanized barleywine rather than a traditional English one. Definitely worth a throwdown.

Drinking out of a tulip glass. A light reddish brown with a beautiful ruby red color in the sun. It has a small white head that recedes quickly. It has sweet notes of caramel and brown sugar with a hint of maple and cherries that balances well with a boozy finish.
