473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Jun 23 2020 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear straw-yellow colour, generating nearly one finger of frothy white head that is gone within two minutes' time. A tight collar and thin band of lacing have been left behind, surrounding a filmy thin layer on the surface. Looks alright, and smells alright too - very muted, though, with only some cereal grains and a touch of bready sweetness. Maybe a hint of grassiness, but I could be imagining that.

It's clean, with no obvious faults for me to latch onto - grainy pale malts and very light cereal grain sweetness are the dominant flavours, with very mild hints of grassy hops towards the finish. Leans dry. Light-medium in body, with lively carbonation and tiny bubbles that briskly tickle the tongue; feels good 'n crisp at first, but it does have a smooth, kinda soft texture that I rather enjoy, and is definitely its strongest asset. I could drink a few of these in a row, but I dunno if I'd really want to.

Final Grade: 3.54, a passable B grade. Creemore's Helles Blond Lager is fine, but not much more than that - it's rather light on flavour for a German-style lager, which I suppose might help it in terms of both approachability and drinkability. I mean, for a light beer it's actually very good, but both the malt and hop bills are too reserved to sell it as a helles, at least IMO. As far as Creemore's Euro-style lagers go, I'd much prefer their Pilsner (or urBock) over this, but if you're looking for a lighter session lager option then this is worth consideration.

Pours a light fizzled pale gold color with a quick receding thin head. Malt and cereal flavoured and aroma, and crisp beer. Subtle and balanced between a low carbonation, light bitterness and kick. A summer beer for sure.

I was deeply surprised by this beer. I wasn't expecting much when I popped open the can, especially as this is a lighter beer, but the taste and texture of this beer were delicious. The flavour was malty and bready in the best possible way, and the mouthfeel and carbonation were smooth and silky. A delicious euro-lager made in Canada! This could easily become my new go-to.

A good Helles lager. See-through gold in colour medium sized head. Sweet taste and smell as is typical for this style. Bready notes on the tongue. Right amount of carbonation.
