A crisp and refreshing Pilsner with pleasant herbal notes from the noble hop, subtle floral esters from a beautiful Lager yeast, and a splash of honeysuckle from the finest German malts.

Well, this Pils was a tertiary factor in my Sunday lunch. First factor was the view that is hard to top, sitting on the Dock Of The Bay and the SF Ferry Building. (Try this view if you want to know what Otis Redding was talking about.) Secondarily, lunch was simple but a slab of Acme's excellent herbal bread. Third, was this Pils; nicely packaged; but by no means a standout IMHO.
My second from Temescal and liking how they helped turn around their Oakland neighbourhood, I read my micro-review from six years ago. And I'm sorry to say that Temescal hasn't changed much. For doing the Same Old, I deduct some OA Hugs from last time. Micros should be more ambitious and get better... and provide a taproom list.
First, I'm not inclined to call this a German. Their hops are less bitter and linger milder than the Czech varieties. Temescal's could have been a Czech to me. While it started out with an active foam, it didn't end that way. Smells were mostly malt with only faintly detecting hops in the back of my nose. This Pils seemed balanced until the finish where it really was too bitter for food, even a simple a bread. Light mouthfeel.
One and done. But I'll take the view as often as I can get it.

16 oz can from Tavour. Pale golden, light haze, huge sticky head. Aroma is malts, crackers. Taste also features biscuit malts, dry with a nice bitter edge.

Hazy, but otherwise a decent pils with a long bitter finish.

Can dated 03/22/21 into a Willi Belcher glass.
L: Pours dark straw yellow with 2 fingers of variable density white frothy head with good retention and left limited spotted lacing.
S: Cereal grains and floral hops, slight citrus undertones.
T: Follows the nose well, more citrus prominence. Finishes with moderate bitterness and a hint of sweetness, bitterness lingers pleasantly on the palate.
F: Low-medium bodied with medium-high carbonation, dances on the tongue from the carbonation, crisp and slick on the swallow.
O: A very nice Pils, though I personally prefer their Wander Pils. Would gladly grab again when I see it fresh.

Faint, pale yellow body; excellent carbonation presence; thick and frothy white head, sticky rings and fingers of foam adhere to the glass. Excellent blend of noble hop and soft and gently sweet malt on the nose; honey. Well-blended flavors comprise the taste; light malt sweetness with a hint of honey; light to moderate hop bitterness throughout; clean. Light to medium body; crisp with a soft, caressing bite to the palate; gentle sweetness throughout.
One of the more sublime pilsners I've tasted in a long while, this particular beer just brings satisfaction to the body and soul. It's a beauty.

Around medium bodied as well as average carbonation
Aroma was a nice mix of grain ,bread, floral hops, malt, yeast
Taste was crisp, slight sweetnes but plenty of aerthy floral hols, grain, bread to make for an overall nice flavor
This went great with food as it had enough flavor to stand up to what I was eating but not over the top where it dominated the taste buds.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grainy malts are present in the nose along with notes of grassy and herbal hops.
T: The taste follows the smell with the hops being a bit stronger and also contributing a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This pilsner seems to be a bit lighter in body compared to other beers in the style, making it very easy to drink.

Excellent, very crisp and refreshing pilsner. I was very impressed by this brewery that’s new to me. 6/15/20 date printed on can. Pours a clear golden color with some creamy fluffy white head that settled to glorious soapy sheets and rings of clinging lingering lacing that persisted throughout. Beautiful. Smells of crisp fruity hops, clean grain and malt, a little bread and vanilla. Taste follows the nose, so smooth and easy to drink, great flavors, no acidity or skunkiness. Smooth mild mouthfeel with excellent carbonation. A real pleasure.

$3.49
Pours the traditional pilsner pale yellow..but the head is beautiful..large and frothy..white.
Aroma again traditional pils..but this one seems a little "corny"..maybe just me. But its not a bad thing.
Taste again pretty straight pils though the hops seem more West coast. Fruity finish.
Mouth feel is average for style but could use more carbonation..better straight from can!
A nice American PIls

This is called "a Modern Pilsner" for some reason. To me it seems like the old school slightly over-bitter stuff. Quite quaffable, but it does get to taste more dry and astringent than I would like. Pleasant aroma of straw and pine.
Handsome pour with golden brew and abundant foam in the tall Rodenbach goblet. Lushly carbonated and quite tangy. A serious bite of hops. More resiny than floral. From the 16 oz can shipped by Bine & Vine from San Diego.

This pours a clear gold with billowy foam. There’s a pleasing flora note to this on the aroma. It’s crisp, with a floral grassiness to it, and finishes clean. No jerks!

16 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 7/29/2019. Gusher can, but nothing lost. Pours lightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. A bit of fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malts and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of pale malts and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky/resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%, Overall this is a delicious Czech Pilsner. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malts and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance of clean pils malts and earthy noble hops. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

L: Paler than straw with a partial thick head and temporary lace.
S: Grass and straw meld equally with that pilsener malt funk.
T: A modern hoppiness which does not improve on the nose. It adds a lemon astringency, and the lager and bitter qualities intensify with the slightest warming.
F: Heavy for ABV. Prickly carbonation.
O: If you just love lagers you may enjoy this one, but it is not modern, hoppy, or craft enough for me.
