i never would have tasted this one if my lady didnt order it up. this is not my thing on paper, but i am so glad she did, because i would have missed a real gem, perhaps my favorite overall beer from our visit to this awesome little brewery. its deep ruby red from the strawberries, an incredibly natural color for a beer like this, hazy a little bit, but like the fruit has been dried or something, blood colored, not pink like a lot of them are. the fruit, both strawberry and lime are present here in nose and taste, but they are accents to a fairly simplistic american pale ale, and the beer is both hop flavored and bitter before the fruit ever enters the picture. the strawberries do have a preserved jammy quality, like the little ones in the jelly jar, same color too, sweet and even a little tart, very natural though, and nice with these hops. the lime is really super subtle, i smell it but its hard to pick out in the taste, which the brewer said was his intention to keep it very minimal. it may just add a waft of freshness to this. its beer before its fruit beer, which was true of all of the stuff with adjuncts in here. i love the fruit blending into the hoppy finish, this was delicious and unexpected! cool they are using local berries too!
