dry hopped saison, really cool beer, feels can conditioned too, for all the diverse and unique stuff these guys do, this is where i think the excel the most, these drinkable modern funky brett beers, and this is delicious. the format is cool too, cant remember the last time i ripped through back to back to back pint cans of beer like this, but when in rome! pale straw colored brew with some moderate haze to it, a huge airy white belgian looking head all wispy and peaky and lasting, and great carbonation, both visually and when i drink it, effervescent and alive. i smell the hops ahead of the brett, maybe something southern hemisphere in this with hints of lime leaf, white tea, and green apple, an interesting aromatic with the funk right behind it, only a little tart no real acidity, smells super fresh but like the brett is also very well developed. the hops are there in the flavor too, bring little to no bitterness, and have a distinct juicy summery vibe, i get a little honeydew now, maybe green gooseberry, light dill or something too, but not vegetal in the overdone sense. the brett is horsey and musty but clean at the end, and this is very dry. some pale wheat character to the base but the grain is largely out of the way, neat mix of flavors, all quite light to drink on. maybe not immaculately refined, but it doesnt need to be, love the way the hops and the brett come together in this, unique to them.

edit: this one is evolving pretty quick in the can, after less than two months in my beer fridge, its gotten even more bretty, dry, and wild, love this old world funky mix, and am impressed with how compatible it is with the hops. super high white belgian looking head from the can now, micro bubble effervescence in the feel, clean citrus and watermelon rind from the hops, wet animal and iodine from the brett, cool and rapid evolution. raising a few scores, this is wonderful, like brett saison meets modern pale ale. yum!

A version with mandarina bavaria and hallertau blanc. Not the same yeast as the bottled version which was a variety of brett - this had some yeast cultivated from the farm.
