A refreshing grisette inspired by our visits to some of Belgium’s most revered breweries and hot summer nights on the farm. Its generously bitter profile and orange hue pays homage to the classic Belgian pale ale, Orval, and its name means farming or agriculture in Dutch. Unfiltered, keg-conditioned, and unapologetically aggressive.

On tap at the brewery.
Hazy orangedense white head. Delicious nose, grainy, mildly spicy, pepper, grains of paradise, honey, dandelions, spelt, wheat. Very rustic. Palate opens spicy, mildly yeasty, honey, pepper, mildly floral. Incredibly flavorful for the low ABV, though not as bright and snappy as it could be. Impressive

a unique grisette here with a lot of subtle complexity, drinkable as a whole, but layered and dynamic when pondered closely. a wood note to it, some spiciness in the grain, a neat nutty layer, more body than expected for how low alcohol it is, and a very cool fermentation profile thats got some obvious brett but also maybe a saison strain in the mix as well, i get some of those esters along with the farmy brett, well developed but still young tasting. i like the wood in the flavor, its great with the grain depth, and i like how this seems hearty and healthful and slightly rich while also being so light in alcohol, all day farm beer here for sure. it has some earthy minerals to it, even lightly metallic in a favorable way, and all sorts of forest elements to me like acorns and wet roots and some emerging vegetation, this indeed has some hops on the finish. overall a real neat beer that brings a lot of elements together into a cool and original cohesive whole, maybe not the most captivating or exhilarating beer on their list at the brewery, but its a nerdy one, for beer drinkers and enthusiasts of this sort of thing, and i adored it. this is a special place, a fantastic operation, and it was amazing to be able to drink so much of their stuff on site, been wanting to come here for ages and finally made it happen. love these guys!
