2021 vintage on tap at the brewery, god these guys are awesome! a barrel aged peach saison that is equal parts fruity and interesting on the ferment, precisely what i wanted from it, and really dialed in and balanced and nuanced, not bracingly sour but tart, not in your face but still distinctive, these guys have a knack for that no doubt. rusty orange toned beer with a little haze to it and a lot of bubbles although collecting a bit of a shorter head than many of their others. it smells amazing, juicy ripe peach at the height of summer, tangy lactic lemony pucker enhancing the fruit, some saison esters and maybe light brett behind it, still kind of young, some oak here too, possibly white wine barrels, this has a slightly vinous thing with the fruit, even kind of floral, light wheat in support, really refined. the flavor is all of this, peaches all through it from start to finish, juicy and real, but also not sweet and lingering, to me the tang sort of cleans it up, and i can taste enough grain through it for this to seem balanced and carefully proportioned. the carbonation is there, the finish is fast but not too fast, and it never gets too sour even as it warms. i like the light spiciness on the back end, the dry cereal base, and the freshness and authenticity of the fruit. this is sure to age well too. another awesome beer from these guys, one of the least talked about but most incredibly awesome breweries in the game...
