16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Dated 4/13/22. Received from @ovaltine in NBS BIF #14 or #15 activities.
Pours a mostly clear orange-gold with a fairly large head that settles to a very meager ring and a very light skin, but with tons of carbonation. Smell is rich lager yeast, lemon, and a slight spiciness that at first made me think of ginger. Clean, fresh cut grass as well.
Taste is rich, malty, a little bit of an earthy/woodiness, grainy sweetness with a little honeysuckle. Bitterness builds up a little bit, almost a nutty characteristic.
Mouthfeel is medium, rather still, which seems strange based on the visible carbonation. Overall, very nice beer.

I don't think I ever tried a maibock before this, and I think it's one of my new favorite styles. Everything about it is like a helles lager except the abv. It's very aromatic and flavorful, mostly with sweet and floral notes that fill the mouth and linger.

Maibock from Dovetail Brewing. Received from @ovaltine in NBS BIF #15 ninja strike. Stored at 40 degrees after receiving. Reviewed 29/05/22. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “4/13/22”. Served at 45.5 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 53.2 degrees.
Appearance – 3.75
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), clear.
Body – Straw (SRM 3), hazy. When rear-lite, much effervescence present.
Head – Large (Maximum 5.5 cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density with small rocks, average retention, rapidly diminishing to a 0.3 to 0.5 cm gently undulating crown and a thin, rocky cap.
Lacing – Poor. A few tiny islands of small bubbles hang resolutely on the glass as the level drops.
Aroma – 3.25 – Weak floral hops and a vague sweetish/honey-like aroma. No yeast, no malt.
Flavor – 3.5 – Begins slightly sweet with a bit of honey and little malt. No yeast. However, as it warms, raw malt makes its bitter presence felt. No ethanol (6.3 % ABV as marked on label) taste or aroma. Weak and transitory gastric warming occurs. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends weakly bitter with a long malt hangtime.
Palate – 3.5 – Medium, watery with a syrupy edge, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Are the floral nose notes coming from the hops or the honey? The final strong malt flavors make this some sort of bock, but by color alone, I’d lean toward a helles bock rather than a Maibock.

Pours clear, golden yellow with a frothy, active head of foam. Aroma is sweet wheat, grassy and airy. This smells like summer sunshine in the French countryside. Taste is light, bready and floral. The palate clears quickly and the beer fades just as soon off the tongue. Light bodied, easy going and hides the ABV under a stack of newly cut wheat left in the fields to dry.

Cloudy straw in color, thin layer of white persists with random tiny lacing spots.
Aroma is sweet, grain forward and fresh grass; maybe a small refreshing citrus note.
The taste leans into the sweet tasting grain; little breadier in the taste than you’d expect from nose.
Medium body that drinks so so easily; just the slightest hint of abv. The carbonation is very smooth and creamy. A grainy low bitterness on the dry and clean finish.

For the style it is a good example but a littleon the sweet side. This one has a sweet beer aroma. The honey flavors come out more when it warms up. Very good beer.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a dense white head, this is the quintessential maibock nose with loads of floral hops and bready malts - and a nice honey note as well. I am officially salivating.
The floral hop notes are forward, with the substantial bready malt flavors following, and that bit of sweetness from the honey at the back of the palate. Wow, is this delicious.
The mouthfeel is medium and leans to the crisper side. Dovetail crushed this, IMHO.

First beer I’ve had of this style and I was impressed. It has a spicy, herbal flavor and smell with undertones of wheat and malt with a very unique profile blending the best of all things with one another. I enjoyed it and will try more maibocks because of my experience. Thanks @CB_Michigan.

Cloudy amber body with a huge white head and light lacing. Aromas of bread, buttery malts, honey, flowers, grass, and dough. Taste is incredible, not sure what else one wants in a maibock: buttery malt, honey and dough start our journey with light herbs, fresh bread, toast crumbs, and honeycomb followed by a gentle finish of german yeast and botanicals namely grass and flowers. Feel has wonderful textures and depth for style, a dynamic sip. Overall vibes of springiness, breadiness, brightness and light hop and yeast percolation. The wife loved it
