"A 2 year blend of 2016 & 2017 Dovetail Vignette."

Cloudy orange appearance.

A slow pour yielded a tiny white head; no lace.

Grapefruit, orange & tart lemon notes in the nose.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Tart grapefruit flavor up front with mild orange citrus & lemon notes on the finish.

A bit watery & mild for the style; this was pleasant but not ready for prime time.

Had on tap. Dirty golden body with a ring of white foam. Nice horse blanket funk with hay, oak, apple, barnyard funk, lemon and yeast. Taste has that funky bite to it, really hammering the barnyard elements, with the fruit taking a clear back seat. Good but you want more intensity because the flavoring is excellent. Feel is grainy, funky and heavily barrel influenced

On draft at the brewery. It actually has a fairly funky aroma to it- wet hay, dried leather, lemon, a bit of zest, mild acetic acidity but without the green apple tartness that a lot of AWAs have. Decent mouthfeel, a bit thin, mildly watery on the finish. It's solid with a nice complexity to it, but seems to be missing the joie de vivre of geuze.

11/17/18 (Chicago): 2 oz pour into FOBAB taster glass. Merky golden pour, slight carbonation, nice white lacing. Nice funky floral aroma. Balanced sweet. dry taste, wine taste is strong and pleasant. Thin mouth feel, light dryness, nice smooth and easy drinking. Well done!

On-tap at Dovetail Brewery, Chicago, IL

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down, leaving patches of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some specks of bubbles running down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of barnyard funk are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is funky and a little sour.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a good amount of funkiness but is very easy to drink compared to other beers in the style.

Post-Oktoberfestiversary leftovers at the taproom, draft served in a small footed tulip glass. Slightly hazy saturated orange, ample foam with a creamy texture, it leaves behind a halo of drippy lacing around the edges.

Aromas of oaky vanilla, citric lemon, restrained funk similar to brie cheese rind.

Puckering lemony tartness, crisp and well carbonated. Citrusy lemon middle, bone dry finish that has a pleasantly clean oaky aftertaste. Light bodied with a creamy texture. Very refreshing and drinkable, I had two in a row. Revisiting it side by side with the newer “Special Collaboration Blend” it seems to have a bit more sharp lingering acidity.

Well structured with very authentic aromas and flavors. It most reminds me of Boon Oude Gueuze in it’s approachability, but is drier and more oak forward. Looking forward to the bottled blends down the road, this is a great sign of things to come.

Edit: Drinking this 6 months later, there is some minor acetic acid present, though it doesn't detract overall.
