Dovetail Framboise Noire 2020 is a 100% spontaneously fermented beer aged on Wisconsin-grown black raspberries. This batch is extremely limited as we did not expect to receive black raspberries last year. Hurray for surprises!

I apparently had this at FOBAB Nov 24, 2021, but rated the wrong entry. Deleted my base entry, which I had recently at the brewery, and updating Noire review here.
Foggy burnt red with a short but bright white head settling to a softly curved ridge.
While the body has a nice fluff, it's also got a slight sharpness. The raspberry is bright and lemony, yet sometimes hints at flavoring qualities instead of fresh fruit for some reason.
While I love their lagers, their dabbling in these styles is less successful, for me.

Cellared almost 2 years. Dark fuchsia body with a pinkish head. Bretty and barnyard funk with dark raspberry and black currant and dark cherry notes. Taste has more of a yogurt flavor to the funk with tons of brett and hay, raspberry is mulled as a result, other fruits are very mild, finish is mark by some leafiness with big brett as the balance doesn't hold through the sip. Feel funky, playfully sour, has hints of acidity here and there on the finish, medium bodied, dries out in a hurry.

Interesting stuff, this. Deep violet with a nice effervescence on the pour. Very aromatic, but easy to tell it's going for more of a traditional lambic, rather than an American wild; as such, the brett funk is quite prominent, with the fruit being not particularly tart nor sour. It simply adds a bit of raspberry sweetness to balance the bugs. Raspberry, blackberry, black cherry and light vanilla highlights. It rewards patience if you let it warm a bit.

Deep purple crimson tone, ample pink foam that settles to a broken skim.
Aroma is fruity, vinous, and Brett forward. Some seedy, leafy notes behind the fruit. Initially some lactic, yogurty funk that segues into Bretty horseblanket later on, with rich vinous berries woven throughout. Brett takes over the fruit to some degree.
Taste is really nice, rich dark fruit notes from the black raspberries plus equal amounts of horsey Brett funk. Lightly acidic and mildly bitter, with a dry finish and lingering oak & Brett aftertaste. Vinous and medium bodied like a nice natty red. Soft carbonation and nice body, though it gets slightly thin in the finish. Quenching and satisfying. Really nice stuff.
