On tap:
Nice golden color with a fluffy head that ends in a medium collar and some lacing. Nose is lightly lime-spritzed apple on a very lightly smoked malt. Taste leans more into the Helles, with flavors mirroring the nose and the lightest touch of smoke that almost adds a more neutral, maybe slightly ashy, bitterness than real smokiness. Very easy drinker but o want a little more smoke coming through on the taste.

poured from a 16oz can into a new glarus 30th anniversary mug. foggy gold with three fingers of firm, off-white foam head. lightly smokey with sweet white bread in the background. taste follows with a sweet, smokey malt flavor. the smoke is definitely on the subtle side. medium-full mouthfeel. pretty damn good.

I had this on draft 2/6/24 @ the Hopleaf.
Mostly see-through dull orange/yellow appearance.
Small eggshell-colored head; nice lacing remained.
Honeyed grain & faint smoke notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel. Honeyed grain & faint smoke flavors.
Subtle, simple & enjoyable. I'd have another...

Half liter at the brewery. Truly an exceptional beer. Their Helles is already stellar but to add some smoked malt is a stroke of genius. So unique and flavorful. Just the right level of smoke and roasted malt to keep it drinkable and not overpowering. Slightly fruity with a lovely salty smokiness in the finish. Outstanding.

Pours a golden straw color with a sudsy white head and has that hazy Helles look. Beautiful beer. The nose has lemon, grass, and cereal aromas, and a just a bit of smoke.
The smoke is more pronounced on the taste, and works really well with the lemon, grass, and cereal flavors. The mouthfeel is crisp and in line with the style.
This is really well executed and a pleasure to drink, which is not surprising, given the prowess of the brewery.

Had on tap. Semi-cloudy golden body with two fingers of pearl white foam, solid lacing. Smell captures the smoke and bready yeast very nicely through out the sniff, lager malt supporting. Taste adds some honey and cracker, nothing overpowers anything else, complimentary yeast and smoke I guess would be the stars if I had to pick. Feel is lighter than expected, smokiness is present but subdued, easy drinking. Smoke is a welcomed addition to the helles

Pale gold, a touch of cloudiness, visible carb trails, ample foam that puffs above the rim like meringue. It looks like a biscuit made of foam.
Aroma is bready with an initial mild whiff of smoke that is barely there, but mostly just the first time around, not sustained.
Lightly bready and crackery, faint malt sweetness and grainy complexity. Faint hint of herbal hops in the finish, lightly lemony but malt forward without much perceptible smoke. Light and crisp, effervescent and easy drinking. Comparable to Schlenkerla Helles, in that the smoke is extremely subtle. A very enjoyable and drinkable Helles.
